Sonny Boy II wuz born sometime aroun’ 1899, or 1901, or 1911 – he cudn’t, or he wudn’t tell – en lived for a lon-lon time in de  Delta. De name Sonny Boy wuz not genuine. De real Sonny Boy (Sonny Boy Williams no I) wuz born in Jackson, Tennesee, begin recordin in 1936 (in a famous session with Big Joe Williams) en went up to Chicago, wheah he played with Hammie Nixon en Sleepy John Estes. When Sonny Boy no I heard about a boy down south usin his name en gitin gigs out uv it, he called Little Walter – who wuz his pupil at de time, en Blin John – de piano player – en wanted to go arter him. some people say dat Sonny Boy II did not record for some time cose he wuz afraid Sonny Boy no I did not git ‘im. he only recorded arter Sonny Boy no I wuz killed, on de 1st of june, 1948, when a man put an ice pick  in his head. but sonny boy II already had a career at de time, cose he has had his own radio show, King Biscuit Time. in de early 60 Sonny Boy II done come to europe en become famous. he played with peoples like muddy waters en taught junior wells.
